LIVING MANDALA CONSULTING

Word of Mouth

Living Mandala Consulting is word of mouth, my friends. And the good news is, I've been super busy! Thank you to all of my wonderful clients who trust me to come into your most intimate spaces and to help you sort through what you've got going on under the bed, in the attic, stashed in the garage and generally making your life miserable and heavy through dense and stagnant energy. I'm booked pretty solid for the next few weeks and that's amazing but here's the deal: I don't advertise, I refuse to hustle and I can't fathom taking an ad out anywhere on the internet. No way!

Why? Because this is intimate work and stepping into a stranger's home is risky business. But if I know you're a friend of so-and-so and you invite me to consult with you? Then we're good. That's all I need to know and I am so there for you. And that's been the case for many of my clients. Strangers to start and trusted friends in the end.

Examples of recent organization projects include several kitchens, bedrooms and offices, a garage or two plus a whole entire estate sale. Name it and I can do it if it has to do with sorting and sifting through your stuff and examining your environment for optimal flow. Each space I encounter is wondrous to me. Each project is a lens into a super interesting person who has trusted me to help out with the clutter that has somehow accumulated over many years and is now running their lives. It brings me so much personal joy to make a difference in this way.

And then there's the feng shui evaluations. Sometimes I walk into spaces and see waaaaaaay too much. But if my expertise isn't requested then I'm just the asshole telling you that your desk is in the wrong spot. Or that, wow, I see that you must be leaking gallons of money. Feng shui is as real as the weather. For example, you can fight me on the fact that it's raining, but in the end, it's still raining. It's the same with spatial flow. Tight, constricted environments with poor placement of objects will squeeze the lifeforce energy out of you over time. It's just true.

Finally, with Space Clearing, I watch in awe as people become believers in front of my eyes. You really can tell the difference when you approach spaces at a subatomic level, addressing the energetic stagnancy that can accumulate over time. The ju-ju that builds after a fight or an illness. Space Clearing is best once we've decluttered and feng shui'd but I've certainly performed Clearings on spaces that weren't optimized and those Clearings act as a stick of dynamite to dislodge whatever is standing in the way of the home owner and getting the job done. Because Space Clearings *also* clear those of us performing the Clearing. They're magic like that.

Reach out if you have a project or even several projects. I have recently begun to offer a 5 session deal for organizing and decluttering projects. Book me for 5 sessions (like, we both commit on our calendars with dates) and I'll shave $100 off. We both win.

It's the year of the water rabbit. Time to flow, time to be joyful, time to manifest more abundance in your life and space. Let's get hoppin'!

Oh, and one more thing. I've finally put a Living Mandala Consulting page on LinkedIn. It's one more way I can do the word of mouth thing.

The A-Team

I was working with a client recently who was befuddled at all the stuff she’d accumulated. She was about to move and was lamenting the fact that she would be transporting a bunch of stuff she didn’t really love to her new home. I stopped her mid-complaint. “You don’t have to take it all. It’s about curating your stuff so all you’re left with is the A-Team.”

This kinda blew her mind and was just the inspiration she needed to edit the hell out of what she was packing. Only pack and move the A-team. Period.

And what’s the A-Team? It’s opening your closet and literally everything in there is something you love. You want to wear it. You’re chomping at the bit to wear it. You can close your eyes and simply pull out some clothes and viola, there’s your A-Team.

It’s scanning the bookshelves, the kitchen gear, the living room décor and literally being lit up by your world and your objects. Everything is in working order and it’s clear what’s in the cabinet. Your stuff moves from cluttered and energetically dense burden to your ace support team. The A-Team!

If you’ve heard of her, Marie Kondo’s approach is holding literally each object in your reality and asking “does this spark joy?” and if it does not, discard or move it on! This is essentially the A-Team approach.

Look, we hang onto stuff for a variety of reasons. Here are some that I encounter with regularity:
  • So-and-so gave it to me and I have to keep it.
  • I paid a lot of money for that.
  • I might use that someday.
  • That’s for an “art project”.
  • It was my grandmother’s.
  • That’s for the garage sale I’m going to have someday.
  • I’m going to list that on such-and-such website.
  • That’s not mine. It’s my husband’s-child’s-mom’s-friend’s thing.

Each and every one of these reasons has an invisible energetic string attached to it. Guilt is one. Guilt that you were given something and you don’t love it. Guilt that you spent money on it and now you’re not even using it. Guilt because it feels wasteful somehow to get rid of something that’s perfectly useful. Then there’s shame. The shame that you imagine feeling when your grandmother somehow wakes from the dead and knows you got rid of her china. Shame that you can’t get it together enough to have that garage sale. Lazy inertia is another one. If you truly have a series of objects that belong to other people, snip that lazy inertia cord! Label these items and stage them for pickup or as drop offs next time you’re out. Snip the shame and guilt cords too. They do not serve you and are only real in your head. Snip those cords! Snip, snip using the sword of discernment and decisive action.

Edit your closet, your kitchen, your dining room and beyond. Leave only the A-team and nothing more. Life’s too short for half ass, B-team living. Virgo season is the perfect time to get on it!

May it be so.

What is a Living Mandala?

6/2/2022

Quite simply, a mandala is a shape that encapsulates a vision. And among many of the world’s spiritual traditions, when the mandala is understood externally, it’s a visual representation of the universe. And when the mandala is understood internally, it can be used as a guide or a roadmap for one’s life.

Okay, so what’s a living mandala? Each of us has our immediate body shape that we were given upon birth but then radiating out of each of us is the larger shape of our lives that takes the form of our home, our office, our car and the streets we take on a regular basis. These personal mandalas, these spaces and shapes that we have control and decision making authority in, are radiating out of us and they pulsate information back to us. We each live at the center of our own personal mandalas and for most people this shape is most palpable when we examine our home. We choose the objects and colors that permeate this space. We choose the arrangement of the furniture and the placement of the desk. We make decisions about what to keep and what to pass on. What’s worn out and what should be replaced. When to take out the trash and how deeply to clean. This is our living mandala, animated. Yes, you, your home and the artifacts inside are alive and dynamic! Always shifting, moving, being dusted, taken out to the alley and flushed down the toilet.

So the questions you can begin to ask yourself are - how inspired am I by my personal mandala? Do I like it? Does it feel harmonious? Does it feel optimized to bring out my best? Is it clunky or awkward? How does the energy flow in my mandala? Does it feel abundant? Look around and see for yourself!

And by looking around with the right set of trained eyes, you can begin to make shifts. So that your mandala is more beautiful, more comfortable, more supportive of your goals. Harness the power of your God-given capacity to make choices and be in control of your space to entice your space to work for you. To support you. To bring out your best. To be the roadmap for what you want to achieve or simply be the sanctuary that holds you.

This is where I can come in, should we choose to work together. I have been studying these things for a long time in my own home (22 years and counting!). I know first hand that something as simple as moving a piece of furniture can open up possibilities in my life’s flow. The power of color to enhance my mood. The importance of texture and personal taste. Between the art of feng shui and the practicality of an organized space and the real, tangible benefits of space clearing, you can begin to engage with your personal mandala in a new way. One that’s fruitful, abundant, beautiful and downright helpful.

If you want to work with me, great! I won’t judge the way you’ve hoarded random shit in your garage or held on to outdated clothes or put your desk/bed/couch/whatever in totally the wrong position. Nope. Why? Because I’ve been there. And I’ve adjusted. And I’ve optimized to the best of my ability. And I’ve learned a ton about it and am delighted to share this knowledge with you.

Reach out to me when you’re ready. Just fill out the form on the contact page and let’s set up a time to chat. Invite me into your world and let’s optimize and harmonize your living mandala to support the goals that are important to you.
